Teria Morada is an accomplished Entertainer, Professional Singer/Lyricist & Dancer/Choreographer. 3x Canadian Latin Music Award recipient, former 2 time Jr. Canadian Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion & National Team Member and multiple time Latin Dance Champion. She started her artistic endeavours and training at the age of 3! Teria’s first solo album “Aries” included several collaborations with TJ Habibi, Sensei Música, William Dinero, Joelle Sahar, BenAnthony LaVoz, Juan de Sedas, SLuv, MM6eatz, El Cata and many more.
One of the highlights of Teria’s performance career was to share the stage with Salsa legend Oscar D’Leon and dance the legendary “Lloraras” live!

Ammoye is an infectious vocalist raised in reggae. Originally from Clarendon, Jamaica, now residing in Toronto, Canada, this 5X Juno Award Nominee, has been consistently performing at high-profile events and festivals. With catchy melodies she reveals her buttery vocal range and an insatiable character.
Ammoye’s upcoming album, “Water” is a collection of songs that offers a unique mix of reggae. She is easily cast as one of Canada’s best reggae and fusion vocalists and considered by many music tastemakers as Canadian reggae’s “Next Big Thing”. This 13 – track LP will feature production from Natural High out of Jamaica, Toronto’s own DJ Agile, The Senior Allstars from Germany, Thomas Blondet from Brooklyn New York, Adian Hanson Donsome of Donsome Records from New York & Also from Toronto Danny Maestro and others who represent the best talents in their respective fields. Ammoye is without question one of the most dynamic and compelling female Canadian performers on the scene right now, and is at the forefront of the modern connection between Jamaica, Toronto, and the world.

7AO
7AO is an up-and-coming rapper from Moncton, New Brunswick. He has been releasing music since 2019 along with the music collective 12 Gauge Equalizer, which has various artists from Zambia, England, and Nigeria. His debut single ‘CRZY’ represented a combination of calm vocals and smooth delivery. He conveys his personality through his music by his use of honest lyrics and use of colorful wordplay.
He followed his first single up with another captivating high energy single ‘21’. With a few performances under his belt, various freestyles he has dropped, and with his debut EP coming out, 7AO’s mission is to show the degree of his versatility in his song writing, production choice, and use of music to convey a story.

Rising Reggae talent Blessed hails from St. Thomas, Jamaica and by the time he immigrated to Canada at the age of twelve, he was already writing his own songs. Blessed has been nominated 9 times in the JUNO’s “Best Reggae Recording” category and has opened for artist such as Lauren Hill, Beres Hammond, Rita Marley, Alton Ellis, & Gregory Isaacs to name a few. Blessed has graced many stages of festivals and venues with his upful, energetic performances. He has performed at Canadian Reggae Sunfest, Jamrock Music Festival, Jamaica House [Headliner] in Whistler B.C during the Winter Olympics.

His experience and musical knowledge allows him to read and adapt to any audience. Constantly on the road between different cities in Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec, Toronto, Edmonton) and internationally (Belgium, France, Sweden, United States of America and East of Africa), you can find Dj Trick Triick sharing his passion for music in a unique and enjoyable way.

DJ CJ was surrounded by music at a very young age. At the age of 15, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps to become a DJ. He has performed clubs and on boat rides in the Greater Toronto Area. He also DJs for weddings, anniversaries, house parties, barbecues, etc. DJ CJ also makes remixes for TikTok and Instagram. One of his biggest accomplishments was remixing the songs titled “Splash” by Nessa Preppy and Patrice Roberts and “Coño” by Jason Derulo. The “Splash Remix” went viral worldwide. DJ CJ does Live shows on TikTok and Twitch called “Therapeutic Thursdays” from 7PM to 8PM (EST) each and every Thursday. In early 2021, DJ CJ joined Bacchanal Radio. He plays his live show called “The Friday Commute” from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM (EST) every Friday. DJ CJ is happy to be a part of Summer Soulsa 2021 and hopes to see you live and in person for Summer Soulsa 2022!

He is the founder of One8tea Ministries which is an organization focused on supporting youth in communities all over Canada using concerts and workshops covering topics such as faith, bullying, teen suicide and drug awareness. He released 5 independent studio albums with Reverence winning a 2017 Covenant Award for Rap Album of the Year and Ventilation being nominated for a 2019 ECMA award and two 2019 Covenant Awards.

He is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to making sure event participants have a blast.

Black Owned & Fueled, Carnival Spice is excited to bring some Caribbean vibes to Fredericton for Summer Soulsa 2021.

The Freddy Beach Dance Tribe is a dance group formed in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 2018. Their passion for world rhythm and dance has motivated them to create easy-to-follow dance routines inspired by cultures all across the globe. Their goal is to foster a fun, accepting, and community oriented environment where no one is afraid to stand up and dance along! Corey, Morgan, and Joanne are excited to get your bodies moving this year and are so grateful to be part of such an uplifting, world-healing celebration of music!

Balysto Steelband is a high energy Caribbean style steel pan formed in 2011 and is comprised of more than a dozen highly skilled musicians and percussionists. The band plays a wide variety of top 40 covers from 1960 to current day, with genres ranging from Reggae, Soca and Calypso to retro Rock, Disco, R&B, Latin and Pop, with a little bit of Jazz and Country thrown in for good measure.

MOON WALKA is a professional artist, born and raised in Southern Nigeria ( Akwa-Ibom). He is an all rounder in the field of arts aiming to express himself through music and visual arts. Most of his skills were refined during his early university day with songs like IUO ANTHEM, FINAL YEAR NO BE BEANS” which became favorites.
Moonwalka has a five track EP titled ‘MOON CHRONICLES” and includes music like “Welcome to the Moon” and “Up and Down” as he teamed up with Official Night Owls to deliver this master piece in 2016.
Over the coming years he has collaborated with various artist both as a musician , a producer and creative director .
LOVE & PRIDE is the latest project he has released which comprises of 11 tracks and includes the hit single “ SHAKABOOMBOOM” . Moon Walka hopes to release more projects and help other creative artists like himself.

Shaheen Alasmar, better known as Shanii22, is an up and coming artist in both the Canadian and International music scenes. As a Syrian-Lebanese rapper raised in Kuwait, his multicultural background deeply influences his unique approach to music, which has turned heads both locally and internationally. With over 200,000 streams across all platforms, Shanii22 has begun shaping his place in the music industry and has no plans to slow down.

DJ Hotcue is a young, up-and-coming DJ who, in a few short years, has grown his career from humble beginnings in a small rural Nova Scotian town to DJing at major events and opening for renowned hip hop artists. DJ Hotcue developed a love for DJing in high school when he was a part of an eight-week DJ course called Rhythm that was taught by Gerald Wheatley and Craig Muise.
In the past few years, DJ Hotcue has performed at events such as NBA Canada : Campus Pass Tour, All Star Skills Challenge, NBA Nation Tour and Halifax Hopscotch, and has opened for performances of DJ Yella, Sean Kingston, Trina, Ricky J, Merkules, Fetty Wap, and Ace Hood.

Keonté triumphs among the East Coast music scene as a multi-talented, award-winning R&B/Pop artist. In 2016, Keonté released “Man Down” from his self-titled EP, followed by a second single “4 Ever” in 2017. Keonté, is a natural-born entertainer who has collected accolades from Music Nova Scotia, African Nova Scotian Music Association (including Artist of the Year 2020), Coast Halifax, East Coast Music Association, Challenge AIDS and Malaria in Africa and recognized by the Honorable Keith Colwell with an MLA Rising Star award. In 2020, CBC produced a special “Keonte Beals: Christmas in North Preston” which was rated number one story in Canada and earned a feature in “Being Black in Canada”. Keonte launched project ‘King’ in 2020, which received the ANSMA song of the year for 2021. Keonte also received acclaimed ECMA status in 2021 for R&B album of the year for ‘King’.

Prophecy Izis (Melvin Claude) is a recording artist of real authentic reggae music. His deep cultural lyrics and positive feel reggae beats are sure to make you feel great. From the age of 9, he sang in churches, schools and community events. His music was greatly influenced by reggae icons such as Joseph “Culture” Hill, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and Burning Spear and more.
He wrote and recorded his first song, Bloody War, in 2001 under “Name brand production” in Jamaica. Prophecy Izis has performed in many events in Jamaica, like Tribute to Peter Tosh and Vybzfm concerts with artists such as Richie Stevens, Warrior King, Tarrus Riley, Chezidek and Lutan Fyah. Prophecy Izis also released singles with Wildgese Records such as Jah is Worthy and The System Red. He is now located in Montreal, and has since released many great singles including Revolution, Mama & Papa & Free Education, and a complete online album – in August 2012 , produced by Bereket Tafari of Riddim Yut Prodz in South Africa.

who we are
Summer Soulsa is a vibrant and dynamic music festival that celebrates the diversity and beauty of Caribbean, Latin, and African cultures through art, music, dance, and cuisine.
It is brought to you by Star Light Entertainment Association Inc., in partnership with the City of Fredericton, the Government of New Brunswick, and the Federal Government of Canada. It takes place during the labor day weekend of each year from Friday to Saturday.
